NeWeigh is a seasoned, multi-disciplinary, surgical weight loss program. Pioneering the Houston area in 1991, NeWeigh recognized that the morbidly obese were discriminated against, even by healthcare providers. We fought to change this mind-set and as a result, we were successful in bringing the treatment of morbid obesity into the mainstream. Another accomplishment that we are proud of is being the first Program in Houston to offer laparoscopic procedures to the morbidly obese. In fact, we set the bar for the standard of non-medical treatment to which the morbidly obese is entitled.

The surgeons associated with the NeWeigh Program dedicate the major portion of their practice to the treatment of morbid obesity, and as a result, have successfully performed thousands of surgical weight loss procedures.
